RSDP Webinar : “Disruptive Technologies, Personal Data Protection, and the Digital Organization of Enterprise”

Disruptive technologies unleash a wave of innovation, displace established technologies, and introduce ground-breaking products that either create a completely new industry or deeply transform an existing one.  The industry 4.0 reality establishes a hyper-connectivity and interoperability model of operation that goes beyond the factory walls and where production means interact not only with the factory environment itself, but along the value chain to which customers, suppliers, logistics belong to. Digital transformation shakes up the traditional organization, decision-making process, and human capital management within the spectrum of an enterprise. New rights, new duties, new skills are re-establishing the relationship between employers and employees.

The personal data process lies at the heart of the above digital transformation of economy and employment relationships. The EU personal data protection law is worldwide, so far, the only solid, comprehensive law that provides for a balance between technological innovation and protection of fundamental rights, and addresses equally both the prerogatives of the Rule of Law on one hand, and of profound technological disruption on the other.
