Studios
At the Department of Design and Multimedia our students work in state of the art studios and laboratories designed to fully support creative exploration in a variety of media, including; interactive and creative technologies, virtual and augmented reality, traditional and digital 2D and 3D animation, graphic and digital design, photography, printmaking, painting, drawing, ceramics and sculpture.
More specifically students and faculty have access to the following labs and studios:
Fine Art Studios
Fine Art Studios (01,02,03)
Allocated studio spaces where students are free to work and experiment creatively with several techniques and materials.
Fine Art Outdoor Sculpture area
An outdoor space created for students, where they can experiment with several mediums (plaster, clay, cement, wood, metal) for their sculpture and other classes.
Graphic Design Studios
GDS3 – Graphic design studio/classroom
Studio for design classes and seminars especially for the needs of the Department students
Photography Studio
GDS5 – Photography studio/dark room
Photography studio area and dark room with dedicated equipment and facilities for the relevant photo courses offered by the Department
Stop-Motion Animation Studio
7 Individual work stations with professional lights, manfrotto professional tripods, multimedia laptops with dragonframe stop motion animation software and cannon DSLR 750 cameras.

Creative Technologies Lab
Interactive and creative technologies (VR) Lab
State-of-the-art virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies facility. This includes two independent immersive VR installations and facilities for teaching including 16 high-end workstations
Graphic Design Lab
GDS2 – Graphic Design Computer lab
Dedicated design software and PCs/Macs to accommodate the needs of the Department students
Multimedia Lab
The lab has dedicated facilities for multimedia related courses. It accommodates 17 computers and features the complete Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Studio Max, Maya, Unity.
Ceramics Workshop
Ceramics lab equipped with a wheel, pug mill, slap roller and a kiln (kiln in an extra room equipped with electric ventilation)
Printing Workshops
GDS4 – Graphic design printing lab
Area with a 17x25mm platen hand driven letterpress press, thermal printing, silk screen and photocopying facilities especially for the needs of the Department students
Fine Art Printmaking lab
Operates with hand driven platen printing presses and silkscreen equipment
Access to Architecture workshops
Digital Fabrication lab, laser cutting, CNC Milling, 3D Printing, wood workshop
Mediazone
Mediazone is the centre point for all practical courses offered in the Communications Department, and also offer services to the Design & Multimedia Department. As technical experts in the field of media, Mediazone offers constant support guidance in the field of media & media technology; walk in questions about equipment borrowed, about personal technical endeavors students or staff may be undertaking, as well as anything else they may require in the field of media.
