“The Big Choir Project” Becomes a Reality

The launch meeting of the biggest choir in Cyprus to take place at the University of Nicosia

“The Big Choir Project” is an ambitious initiative which aims to develop and promote musical talent in Cyprus, and the representation thereof in the international music industry.

The project has resulted in the creation of the largest (by number of members) choir in Cyprus called the Pancyprian Artists Chorus. This musical ensemble is comprised of more than 200 professional musicians, as well as music graduates and current students, high school musicians and choir members from across the island and abroad.

The first meeting to officially introduce the Pancyprian Artists Chorus will take place at the University of Nicosia (UNIC) on 15 July 2018 at 11:00 am. The University is a proud supporter of this unique project and will provide a dedicated space on-campus for the choir to host its meetings going forward.

The founder of the project, Nicolas Therapontos, will also serve as the choir’s Conductor and Director. Nicolas is a UNIC graduate in Music Education and holder of a postgraduate degree in Education Sciences. He is also a music teacher and conductor of three choral ensembles in Larnaca and Nicosia.
