About the Programme:

The doctorate degree is intended for applicants who have excelled during their undergraduate and/or graduate studies, have a strong motivation and enthusiasm towards technological research and innovation, and are inclined to work in the academic domain or a research intensive environment in the industry.

The specific aims of the programme are to:

  • Forster students’ skills and understanding in the processes and technologies involved in exploration, development, production, refining and safe transport of oil and gas.
  • Help students gain a profound understanding of petroleum and energy systems by conducting research on geology, petroleum systems, reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, renewable energy, wave harvesting, photovoltaics, carbon capture, etc.
  • Use mathematics, basic science, and engineering techniques to solve problems related to oil and natural gas extraction and energy.
  • Educate students on how to disseminate research findings in scientific and engineering journals and conferences.
