Health Promotion at Sport Clubs (HP@SC)
The HP@SC project addresses the Erasmus project objectives by looking at sport clubs as informal educational settings and by promoting the awareness of Health – Enhancing Physical Activity, both during workouts and training sessions, and during other club social activities. The HPSC project is in line with the EU regulations and perspectives, in particular with the White Paper on sport, the HEPA recommendation, the Communication “Developing the European Dimension in sport” and the Council Resolution on the “EU Work Plan for Sport”.
The project stimulates the networking among sport clubs to increase health promotion activities; it provides a Join Health Promotion Framework, based on scientific know – how, and on the capitalization of experimental activities developed by the participating organizations (partners) at local and regional/national levels. The sports addressed by the project are also coherent with the Erasmus Sport Programme, these are: tennis, football, volleyball and basketball and are practiced at grassroots level.
CCEIA – Center for European and International Affairs along with five (5) other partners from Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Bulgaria participate in the implementation of the European Project «Health Promotion at Sport Clubs».
The main objectives of the project which is co- funded by the Erasmus + programme of the European Union are the extension of the role of sport clubs as to promote health, well-being, social inclusion and to increase the awareness on the value of physical activity in relation to the personal, social and professional development of individuals.
The Ultimate goal is the creation of an HP- Lab (Laboratory Network), which will act as a communication hub at national and supranational level, as well as a network for sport clubs and other stakeholders (leagues, clubs, amateur sports teams, sponsors, etc.). The basic aim of HP-Lab involves best practices exchange, knowledge enhancement on Sports and Health and joint development of health oriented programs.
