Zenonas Tziarras holds a PhD from the University of Warwick, where he also taught World Politics, and has been a non-resident Foreign Policy & Middle East Expert with the Institute Strategy International. He also has a BA in Mediterranean Studies & International Relations from the Aegean University (Greece) and an MA in International Relations & Strategic Studies from the University of Birmingham, UK. His work focuses on Turkish and Middle East politics, Turkey-EU relations, conflict analysis, EU and Eastern Mediterranean energy security, and cyber-security.
He has written extensively for academic journals, edited books, research centers and media outlets, presented his work at international conferences in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Poland, the UK and Canada and is a frequent media commentator. He co-edited a book on Cyprus’s foreign policy [In Greek], co-authored a forthcoming book on Turkish foreign policy [In Greek] and is preparing a book based on his PhD thesis regarding Turkey’s Middle East foreign policy from a neoclassical realist perspective.
