Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Centre

The Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Centre (CSRC) aims to develop knowledge, skills, competences, and create awareness, innovative thinking and solutions on themes considered as material for Business, the State, Society and all stakeholders at large. The foundations of the governing and working approach to be carried out by CSRC are Ethics, Responsibility, Sustainability, Excellence, and Transparency. CSRC approaches the major challenges that Business Leaders are facing, in a synergic and inclusive approach, mindset and thinking, and assists in the creation of partnerships, community engagement, shared leadership, social entrepreneurship as key factors for impact investment, social cohesion, environmental resilience and long-lasting business sustainability.

CSRC will contribute to University of Nicosia’s visibility and strategic goals by:

  • Establishing strong links with industry and thus reinforcing University of Nicosia’s efforts to form strategic alliances and partnerships with key players in various industry sectors.

  • Leading Corporate Sustainability initiatives and ensuring the University of Nicosia is at the forefront of implementing innovative practices within this current and dynamic field.

  • Aiding University of Nicosia to maintain exemplary Sustainability indicators which are integral components to the University Rankings application procedure.

  • Contributing to an increase in funded research: The activities of the Center will aim towards increasing the probability of obtaining external research funding, which is a core objective of UNIC.

  • Contributing to an increase in academic publications, which is also a core objective for University of Nicosia and is consistent with the University’s strategy for attaining excellence in international research standing and in the University Rankings application procedure.

Note: Due to the forthcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directing, UNIC will be obliged to disclose sustainability related information in 2024 (reporting year 2023). A European reporting standard will be published in Oct 2022.
