The webinar will be presented by Associate Professor Dr Iris Charalambidou titled: Anthropogenic pollutants over time and space.
Dr Charalambidou will describe some case studies demonstrating the extent of anthropogenic pollution over long time periods and large and widespread geographic areas, and how that may interfere with human health.

Dr Iris Charalambidou
Iris Charalambidou is an Associate Professor in Ecology at the University of Nicosia School of Sciences and Engineering. Dr Charalambidou has been involved in ecological research, nature conservation, civil society engagement and awareness raising for more than twenty years in Greece, Wales, England, the Netherlands, Denmark, and, since 2003, in Cyprus. Since 2005, she is involved in bi-communal civil society engagement and in 2020 became a founding member on the board of directors of the ‘Cyprus Environmental Stakeholder Forum’, with the vision to tackle environmental issues in Cyprus at the island-wide level. Since 2010 she works in academia and has served as the Coordinator of the BSc Human Biology, and BSc Environmental and Energy Management at the University of Nicosia. She is currently involved in researching the presence of infectious diseases and anthropogenic pollutants in avian hosts.
