CSC Company Career Days “Meet Cedar Rose”

The Career Success Centre is organising a series of online webinars with guest speakers on how students can increase their employment opportunities and skills required in the job market.

The webinar will introduce the company Cedar Rose by addressing who are the people behind the scenes and what the company does in detail. The webinar will further discuss in depth state of the art data topics, like how the company implements Data Integrity (Data Integration, Data Quality, Data Enrichment), GDPR & Data Protection, why and how SQL is important in the Data World, as well as present the topic of Automation & Algorithms. The session will include a Q&A session to discuss open questions and clarify the understanding of the audience.

Speakers:

Angelique Assaf, Head of Data Strategy

Angelique is Head of Data Strategy at Cedar Rose in the Dubai Office, heading the department with a demonstrated history of working in the information services industry. She is skilled in Business Planning, Data Strategies, Management, and Business Intelligence. She is also a strong analytical professional with a background in Mathematics and International Accounting & Finance. Angelique has been instrumental in helping to build the CR Score – the unique credit scoring model of Cedar Rose – in addition to some other algorithms, and in growing the company’s database into millions of companies using AI, machine learning and a team of analysts, scientists and translators.

Elissa Ghosn, Data Specialist 

Elissa joined Cedar Rose as a Business Researcher & Interviewer in November 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. She later switched to part time working whilst studying for her Master’s Degree in Economics, Banking and Financial Markets and went on to excel with almost 97% in a Data Analysis for Management course at the London School of Economics. In 2018, Elissa joined the Data Strategy Department as Data Analyst and now a Data Specialist in Cedar Rose’s Lebanon office. Elissa leads a remote team of data quality and data analyst staff and translators. Elissa has an incredibly positive personality and loves to study and improve her skills!

John Patounas, Chief Information Officer

John holds a BSC and MSc in Software Engineering from University of Essex and he is a Microsoft Certified Professional. John joined Cedar Rose’s Cyprus office as a Senior Software Engineer in 2017 with a wealth of software architecture and IT project management experience. He has since taken on the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) and leads the company’s Business Continuity Committee. He was instrumental in swiftly moving all employees to a home working environment during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic while continuing the projects of corporate web presence. John is now Cedar Rose’s Chief Information Officer.

Mohamed Atwi, Head of Software Development

Mohamed joined Cedar Rose’s Lebanon office in 2013 as a Senior Software Developer and is now the Head of Software Development. Mohamed has been instrumental in building the backbone of Cedar Rose’s vast database – CRiS – the internal software used to house and support the database. He has also helped to build flexible API solutions with both clients and suppliers for both the credit reporting and electronic identity verification services Cedar Rose provides and helped to build the functionality for the database relationships and technology behind the CR Score and more.

Zeinab Srour, Senior Software Engineer

Zeinab is a passionate Senior Software Engineer and SQL enthusiast, she joined Cedar Rose’s Lebanon office in 2015 after she was a frontend and backend developer and having hands on experience in mobile applications. Zeinab today leads a team of software developers, and as a team they help growing the company’s database to host millions of companies and individuals’ records. Zeinab has recently enrolled into Project Management Professional course, as she has a certain grasp of the function and importance of projects in her day to day work.
