EMSI Video Podcast Series – Episode 2
The episode 2 of EMSI Video Podcast Series titled Power Games in the Eastern Mediterranean: The Future of Offshore Drilling and Trilateral Partnerships after COVID-19 will examine the impact of COVID-19 outbreak, as well as latest developments in general, on Eastern Mediterranean politics. Particular attention will be paid on the spiraling tensions and related policies implemented by regional actors. Indicatively, we will discuss the following questions:

- Reflections on Turkey’s latest movements regarding energy cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean: will Ankara persuade (or force) other players to accept her interpretation of the regional state of affairs?
- How does Turkey’s role in Syria and Libya affect energy-related dynamics?
- Is a serious military incident between Greece and Turkey more possible than ever?
- Will extra-regional great powers (United States, Russia, France/EU) assume a balancing role?
In this episode are hosted Dr. Angelos Syrigos, Associate Professor of International Law and Foreign Affairs at Panteion University and Member of Greek Parliament (New Democracy) and Prof Michael Tanchum, Professor at University of Navarra, Senior Fellow at Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES), Senior Fellow at Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace, Hebrew University and Fellow at the Centre for Strategic Studies at Başkent University, Ankara, Turkey (Başkent-SAM).
