Seminar 2: “Research Philosophy, Methodology and Methods”
Many previous Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students labelled research philosophy ‘a tough cookie but eye-opening food for thought’ and personally rewarding. This research seminar illuminates the necessary coherence between the researcher’s philosophical and epistemological stance and her/his methodological design.
Participants can expect a potpourri of classical, phenomenological and contemporary philosophies as well as research methods and techniques to be presented in a nutshell. The seminar will support the participants in reflecting on her/his own and other researchers’ world views and research designs. The seminar includes a current practical PhD student’s example.
