Dr Polyxeni Georgiadou
Dr Polyxeni Georgiadou is a registered Counseling Psychologist and an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology. She is currently the Program Coordinator of the MSc program in Counseling Psychology at the Department of Social Sciences, University of Nicosia. She holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Crete, Greece, a Master’s degree (MEd.) in Counseling Psychology from the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology, at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the same department at McGill University. She is a member of different professional organizations and has participated in a number of organizing and scientific committees for a number of conferences in Cyprus and Greece, while she was also a member of the Research Ethics Committee at the University of Nicosia. She is a member of different professional associations in Cyprus and Greece and acted as co-coordinator of the Division of Positive Psychology of the Hellenic Psychological Society during the years 2011-2016, as well as a co-founding member of the Hellenic Association of Positive Psychology. Dr Georgiadou’s research interests are in the area of counsellor/psychotherapist’s training, supervision, psychotherapy variables, and positive psychology. She also works as a Clinician and as a Clinical supervisor for students in Masters and PhD programmes.
