Dr Spyros Hadjidakis, Associate Professor in Economics, holds a BA degree in Economics from Deree College, an MA degree in Contemporary European Studies from the University of Reading and a PhD degree in Economics from the same University. He is currently the Head of the Department of Finance and Economics, School of Business, at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. He is also a certified Distance Education Instructor and Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) as well as a business consultant accredited by the Cyprus Institute of Technology. In the past, Dr Hadjidakis was a lecturer at the Technical University of Crete (1989-1991) and visiting lecturer at the Graduate School of Economics and Management Studies, Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (1991-1993. His research interests include e-learning, European monetary and economic integration, globalization, the Cyprus economy and the economics of the food sector. His research work has been published in international conference proceedings and refereed academic journals.
