Dr Christiana Karousiou
Christiana P. Karousiou has been awarded a PhD in Education from the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED) at the University of Manchester in 2013 and is currently teaching at the University of Nicosia in the department of School of Education. She holds two master’s degrees, in Educational Research (MSc) and in Educational Leadership and School Improvement (MEd). Her research interests include educational policy with a particular emphasis upon teachers’ continuing professional development, teachers’ professional identities, educational leadership, school improvement and qualitative research methods. She was the keynote speaker in seminars organised by the SEED at the University of Manchester and she presented work related to her research interests in academic journals and conferences. She has participated and coordinated European Projects such as the iLearnGreek programmes as well as the Lifelong Readers 2.0 project. Finally, she has been extensively involved in local and international professional academic associations such as The British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society, The Critical Education Policy and Leadership Group (The University of Manchester) and the Pedagogical Company in Cyprus.
