Profile of the programme
With the continuous advancements of Information Communication Technologies (ICT), organizations seek employees with progressive managerial skills and competencies that focus on the appropriate use of ICT as a key enabler of their business success.
Employees, involved in information systems must not only have the background technical knowledge but have the skills to understand, employ and manage concepts, principles, techniques, best practices, and procedures.
The Management Information Systems (MIS) is a 4-year Bachelor of Science hosted by the Department of Management. Aligned with the continuous Technological, Economic and Social Changes the BSc in MIS equipes students with extensive knowledge, skills and competences of IT, business, management and economics and prepares them to become the future Digital Transformation Experts.
The MIS (BSc) learning goals are:
- Provide a common body of knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts and key principles in the area of Management Information Systems.
- Develop analytical skills to visualize complex business problems and make informed decisions on planning, initiating, organizing, and controlling the operations of the firm’s subsystems.
- Develop and apply the principles of problem solving and critical thinking skills to model information systems solutions for business problems.
- Develop communication and collaboration skills in a diverse group to undertake business and professional responsibilities related to the use of information systems in organizations through the use of a competency-based program.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the programme can be accepted into Second Cycle degrees (Master’s Degree).
Academic Admission
The minimum admission requirement to an undergraduate programme of study is a recognized High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) or equivalent internationally recognized qualification(s). Students with a lower HSLC grade than 7.5/10 or 15/20 or equivalent depending on the grading system of the country issuing the HSLC are provided with extra academic guidance and monitoring during the first year of their studies.
In addition to a strong academic record, we take into account the student’s extra professional certifications such as ECDL Certificates, Microsoft Certificates e.g.
English Language Proficiency
The list below provides the minimum English Language Requirements (ELR) for enrollment to the programme of study. Students who do not possess any of the qualifications or stipulated grades listed below and hold IELTS with 4.5 and above, are required to take UNIC’s NEPTON English Placement Test (with no charge) and will receive English Language support classes.

Η αξιολόγηση του μαθήματος αποτελείται συνήθως από μια τελική εξέταση και συνεχή αξιολόγηση. Η συνεχής αξιολόγηση μπορεί να περιλαμβάνει μεταξύ άλλων, ενδιάμεση εξέταση, μελέτες και συμμετοχή στην τάξη .
Η βαθμολογία υπολογίζεται βάσει του βάρους της τελικής εξέτασης, της συνεχούς αξιολόγησης και της πραγματικής αριθμητικής βαθμολογίας που λήφθηκε σε αυτές τις δύο αξιολογήσεις. Με βάση την βαθμολογία των μαθημάτων υπολογίζεται ο μέσος βαθμός του εξάμηνου (GPA) ενός φοιτητή καθώς και ο γενικός μέσος όρος (CPA).
Ο φοιτητής πρέπει να συμπληρώσει 240 ECTS καθώς και όλες τις απαιτήσεις του προγράμματος.
Ο ελάχιστος απαιτούμενος γενικός βαθμός (CPA) είναι 2.0. Παρά το γεγονός ότι με το βαθμό ‘D-‘ το μάθημα θεωρείται ότι ολοκληρώθηκε επιτυχώς, ο απαιτούμενος μέσος όρος είναι το ‘C’ για να επιτευχθεί ο ελάχιστος απαιτούμενος γενικός βαθμός (CPA) 2.0.
Upon successful completion of this program, the students should be able to:
- Improve organizational processes with information technology solutions.
- Address information requirements in the organization and exploit opportunities created by technological innovations.
- Apply intellectual property law principles to business problems and analyse the social impact of intellectual property law and policy.
- Analyse trade-offs and identify, evaluate, and procure solution and sourcing alternatives.
- Ensure alignment between IT strategy and organizational strategy to ensure business continuance.
- Manage existing information systems, ICT resources, and the relationships with technology service providers.
- Manage and control ongoing information technology operations and IS projects, IT risks, and secure data and infrastructure.
- Design and implement applications, application architectures, and integrated systems.
- Manage and exploit organizational data and information; design data and information models.
- Address new ways of customer engagement and management through the implementation of emerging Information Technologies.
- Improve various stakeholders’ experience in interacting with the organization and ensure high-quality user experience.
