Dr Monica Nikitara has served as a lecturer in the nursing program at the University of Nicosia since 2010. She graduated from the Nursing School of Cyprus in 2003 and worked as a staff nurse at the Anticancer Society in Cyprus for two years. In 2008, Monica earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Health Studies from the University of Wolverhampton, followed by the completion of her MSc in Health Care Policy and Management from the University of Birmingham in 2009. In 2012, she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of Hertfordshire. In 2019, Monica completed her PhD in Nursing at the University of Nicosia. Since 2022, she has taken on the role of coordinator for the BSc in Nursing at the University of Nicosia. Her current research interests revolve around clinical diabetes, self-management of individuals with diabetes, chronic diseases, and diversity in nursing care.
