Ioulia Papageorgi is a Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nicosia. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS). Ioulia is the Convenor of the Board of Educational Affairs of the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA), and is an elected member of the Committee of Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research (SEMPRE) (2014-date). Additionally, she currently serves on the Cyprus National Bioethics Committee as a member of the Review Bioethics Committee for Biomedical Research (2018-2021). Ioulia has served on the board of Cyprus Psychologists’ Association (2015-2017 as Vice-President; 2013-2015 as Treasurer). She previously held the position of Lecturer and Coordinating Research Officer at UCL Institute of Education, University of London (2006-2011), and of Associate Lecturer at the Open University (UK) (2009-2011). Her research interests focus on test anxiety, psychometric testing, the psychology of performance, music performance anxiety, the development of expertise, the association between music training and cognitive development, as well as teaching and learning in psychology. She has presented her work in many international conferences and has several publications in a peer-reviewed journals and books.
