Smart DevOps MOOC Develops Smart Cities’ Competencies to 252 Trainees
The first of its kind ERASMUS+ MOOC was offered by the UNIC School of Business along with key European Partners
The University of Nicosia School of Business is proud to announce the successful completion of the specially designed MOOC for smart cities (www.smartdevopsmooc.eu), along with partners from the DevOps Erasmus+ consortium (http://devops.uth.gr/dev/) lead by the University of Thessaly.
About the DevOps MOOC
This is part of the DEVOPS project funded by Erasmus+, which aims to close the gap in the skills demands of tomorrow’s municipal workforce. The Smart DevOps MOOC included 15 modules developed and delivered by experts under high standards of quality assurance. It delivered an impressive range of transferrable and digital skills for Smart City professionals through a flexible weekly workload and schedule.
The MOOC took place from October 2020 to January 2021 and, in addition to asynchronous learning, included weekly synchronous sessions and personalised support provided by experienced lecturers.
Participants
The MOOC received expressions of interest from 938 professionals from over 58 countries worldwide. Our warmest congratulations to the 252 participants who have successfully completed the SMART DevOps MOOC and received their Certificates in accordance with the European and national qualification frameworks and the European credit system for vocational education.
Benefits/Added Value
The Smart DevOps MOOC was a pioneering, rigorous and impactful learning experience for those interested in Smart Cities. Moreover, it turned out to be a unique opportunity for networking with peers in the EU and beyond.
Smart DevOps MOOC graduates may now validate their Certification on the Blockchain, as well as pursue specialised courses to advance their knowledge, competencies and skills as a Smart City Planner, Smart City ICT Manager or Smart City ICT Officer.
