Professor Haritini Tsangari
Dr Haritini Tsangari is Professor of Statistics at the School of Business, University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Her education includes a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cyprus, an MSc in Statistics and a PhD in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. Her postgraduate studies were funded by a Leventis Foundation scholarship and a teaching and research assistantship from the Pennsylvania State University. Her doctorate thesis received the “Lefkopoulio” Award. She joined the University of Nicosia in 2003. Her previous teaching and research experience includes the University of Cyprus, the School of Nursing of the Ministry of Health and the Pennsylvania State University.
Prof. Tsangari has published numerous papers in established international academic journals, academic book chapters and reports. Many of her research articles have received distinctions and awards, have been selected as Editor’s Choice and have been widely cited. Her research work has been presented in both local and international conferences. She has been the principal investigator and research partner in a number of funded projects, funded by the Research Promotion Foundation, European funds or by local Institutions, and she is also a consultant for various projects. Prof. Tsangari teaches both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Nicosia.
She is also the supervisor of many MBA theses and PhD dissertations. Her research interests include theoretical Statistics, especially in model building and forecasting, as well as Applied Statistics in areas such as Finance, Economics, Management, Nursing and Healthcare. Prof. Tsangari is a member in the Editorial Board of several academic journals and a journal and conference reviewer. She is also a member of the Administrative Council of the A.G. Leventis Foundation Scholars Association and the Secretary of the Administrative Council of the newly-founded Cyprus Statistical Society.
