The Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management is delighted to invite you, on Monday, September 14, 2021 from 18:00 to 19:00 (UTC+03:00) to an online information day about Tourism, Leisure and Events Management.

The programme sets out to provide our students with a broad understanding of the complexities of tourism, leisure and events, as part of a fascinating global industry, which spans over recreation, entertainment, tourism, arts, culture, sports, media and sustainability. This degree is your opportunity to turn your passion to a fascinating career in management, in the world of leisure, tourism and events. The University of Nicosia offers a multi-cultural environment, which ensures that our students gain insight into issues, such as, diversity and the interconnectivity of all aspects of the industry.

This online seminar aims at introducing prospective students to the Tourism, Leisure and Events Management (BBA) programme, its innovative learning strategies, and the overall experience of studying at the University of Nicosia.

The University accepts applications for enrollment in the Winter Academic Semester 2021, whose courses begin on September 27, 2021.

Ranked by Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has been named among the top 601-800 universities in the world, according to the latest edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. The THE World University Rankings (WUR) are possibly the best-known university rankings in the world. The expanded WUR 2022 edition includes over 1,500 ranked research-intensive universities, out of 25,000 universities globally, that met the THE eligibility criteria and applied for assessment.

One of the core areas in which the University excelled in this year’s expanded 2022 WUR edition is International Outlook, where UNIC ranked 47th worldwide.

The latest results of the annual Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2021 rank the University of Nicosia among the top 301-400 universities in the world in the subject area of Business and Economics. This ranking places UNIC as the #1 ranked university in Cyprus and Greece, and among the Top 100 universities in the European Union, in this subject area.

UNIC joins the list of the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger, according to the 2021 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Correspondingly, UNIC ranks among the Top 110 Young Universities in Europe.

The 2020 Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings ranked the University of Nicosia as the number 32 university in the world in the core area of Quality Education, and among the top 401-600 universities globally in terms of its overall social and economic impact.

QS World University Rankings has recognised UNIC for two years running in the Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) Region, with the University ranking at numbers 106 and 91 among 1,800 tertiary institutions across 24 countries.

Awarded 5 QS Stars for Overall Excellence

The QS Intelligence Unit recognised the University’s exemplary overall standing, making it the first university in Cyprus and Greece to achieve a 5-Star Institutional Rating. The University has joined an exclusive group of universities to achieve a 5-Star (QS Stars) institutional rating, along with 50 other universities globally. In addition to its exemplary overall standing, UNIC received the highest possible (5-Star) rating in the following key categories: Teaching, Employability, Online Learning, Internationalisation, Inclusiveness, and Facilities.
