The University of Nicosia (UNIC) invites you to a Virtual Info Session of the Department of Computer Science and its innovative programmes in “Computer Science” and “Data Science” on Wednesday, 5 July 2023, between 17:00-18:00 (GMT+3).

During the session, you will have the opportunity to learn about the programmes offered by the Department, the employment opportunities, the admission requirements, the scholarships offered by the University and raise any questions you may have.

Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science offers degrees in all levels within the field: BSc, MSc and PhD in Computer Science, as well as the recent cutting-edge degrees: BSc and MSc in Data Science. The two Data Science programmes are designed to prepare students for employment opportunities in one of the ten most in-demand job specializations globally. Our Computer Science programs expose the students to current and emerging trends and prepare them for a wide variety of computer-oriented careers, such as research, development, management, and teaching, in the rapidly expanding field of Computer Science, a field that has a profound impact in modern societies and economies. At the same time, the Department is committed to research excellence by undertaking cutting-edge research in the fields that drive the 4th Industrial revolution, fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, Internet of Things, Blockchain Technologies, Data Security and Privacy. Computer Science will play an increasingly important role for nearly every other academic discipline (ranging from political science, journalism, economics to biology and medicine). The Department is committed to educating the broader community with the essential Computer Science and Data Science knowledge to meet the demands in their respective fields.

Innovative curricula for Computer Science programs with concentrations in current and emerging trends in the field:
- BSc Computer Science with the following four thematic areas that allow students to specialize in state-of-the-art technologies: Cyber Security and Privacy, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Game Development and Virtual Reality.
- MSc Computer Science with three concentrations: Cyber Security, Mobile Systems and Blockchain Technologies.
The BSc in Data Science is the only undergraduate Data Science programme in Cyprus and one of the few currently offered in Europe
MSc in Data Science (Distance Learning) is an industry-driven, interdisciplinary MSc Degree, supported by the data science team of Expedia, and collaborating with Makridakis Open Forecasting Center and collaborating with NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute and Google Cloud.
