Activity 3: The Evolution of Life from Viruses to Humans
The current workshop will discuss the evolution of life. We will use the example of viruses, with a special mention to SARS-CoV-2, to demonstrate that evolution that is at work continuously from the molecular to the human level (Dr. Vicky Nicolaidou). Dr. Iris Charalambidou will then give an overview of the evolution of humans.

The online seminar is free and open to all, but it is aimed primarily at gymnasium and high school students, university students as well as industry professionals.
The series of workshops “Connect with the Life and Health Sciences” («Αγγίζω την Υγεία») is an established event that has become an institution in Cyprus and Greece, aiming to encourage young people to get to know the Life and Health Sciences and especially the practical side of each one, through laboratory exercises and interactive experiments. The series is now available online.
In all activities of the seminars “Connect with the Life and Health Sciences” («Αγγίζω την Υγεία από το Σπίτι»), the President of the Department of Life and Health Sciences, Dr. Kyriakos Felekkis will give a short welcome note.
