In this 9th online tutorial of “Cooking Snaps”, broadcasted on Friday, 23 April at 18:00, Nikolas Konstantinou, Culinary Arts Lecturer, will share some tips for another very special recipe!
- Τasty Easter Flaounes (Cypriot Cheese Pies)
Flaounes are made with an aromatic yeasted phyllo dough, filled with a special Cypriot cheese flavoured with Masticha (mastic resin), mahlepi (mahlab) and mint. Flaounes can be either savory or sweet, by adding sugar and raisins in the filling, an excellent combination of salty and sweet. The cheese used is made especially for this occasion but during other periods, they can be made with halloumi cheese.
