Dr Harris Stefanou

Dr Harris was born in Nicosia in 1984. He studied Biochemistry – Biotechnology at the University of Thessaly, Greece. He holds a Master in Environmental Health from the Harvard School of Public Health-Cyprus International Institute and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Cyprus.

He has always been excited with things like the solar system, the ocean (big fan of Jacque Cousteau), even the mechanics of how birds fly. Currently, Dr Harris is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Molecular Diagnosis and mainly involved in the application of molecular tests for the diagnosis of transmissible diseases.

As a doctoral student, he took part in several events, trying to convey his love of science to the public. This tendency to share science encouraged him to participate in the FameLab contest in Cyprus as well as to take part in Researchers’ night and in the Mediterranean Science Festival!
