Webinar 3: Open Access Publishing Options: Exploring Cyprus Libraries Consortium’s (CLC) Transformative Agreements
In 2025, the University of Nicosia (UNIC) will continue its participation in the Cyprus Libraries Consortium’s (CLC) transformative agreements with various publishers. These agreements offer UNIC-affiliated researchers the opportunity to publish their work in both hybrid and open-access journals at reduced, low, or no cost to the authors. This presentation will identify the publishers involved in these agreements and provide guidance on locating eligible journals for publication. It will also outline the criteria researchers must meet to qualify for these agreements and describe the process for utilizing them. Additionally, the presentation will discuss open-access licensing options and highlight key steps in the publication process.

Dia Kytta is an information professional serving as the Research Liaison Librarian at the University of Nicosia (UNIC). In her role, she assists faculty members in developing and enhancing their research profiles on the PURE-UNIC Research Portal, ensuring seamless integration with Scopus and ORCID. Dia actively supports Open Access initiatives by providing information on Open Access publishing, collaborating with the Cyprus Libraries Consortium (CLC), and managing the UNIC Repository. Additionally, she provides guidance on identifying high-impact journals and strategies to improve h-index scores and citation counts. Dia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Librarianship and Archives Science from Ionian University in Corfu, Greece, and a Master of Science in Information and Library Management from the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK. She has extensive experience in managing research services, library technology, metadata, and standards. Furthermore, Dia participates in national and international standardization committees, including ISO TC46, ELOT/TE22, and SAA TS EAS.
