Seminar 3 : ” Practical Grant Writing Tips

During this seminar we will discuss the process of generating a project idea, matching it to a call for proposals, developing the full proposal and submitting it. We will discuss issues such as generating a good project idea, accessing funding opportunities, and managing the whole process from idea generation to proposal final submission. We will discuss practical steps such as:

  • Matching the idea to a funding call for proposals
  • Understanding the priorities and scope of the call for proposals and the overall context.
  • Building a draft outline of the project
  • Finding the right partners
  • Networking tips and relationship building
  • Writing the proposal
  • Budgeting
  • Final package and submission

Dr. Charalambos Vrasidas is co-founder and Executive Director of CARDET, an international non-profit research and development organization based in Cyprus with partners from around the world. He is Professor of Learning Innovations & Policy and Associate Dean for elearning at the University of Nicosia. He serves on the Executive Committee of the International Council for Educational Media. During the last 25 years he coordinated more than 400 projects implemented in more than 40 countries. He currently leads a team of 60 researchers, learning designers, and project managers and supervises a team that coordinates the submission of more than 200 proposals per year. He successfully led proposals that were funded by various agencies and governments around the world including AMIF, Rights and Justice, EuropeAid, H2020, EAE, Erasmus+, USAID, and others. He is Editor-in-Chief for the scholarly journal Educational Media International. He has published 10 books and more than 100 articles in journals, edited volumes and conference proceedings.
