Webinar 4: Writing a PhD Thesis 

In this session we will be dissecting the key components of a successful doctoral-level thesis. We will cover all steps from when and how to begin to write your thesis, to different styles of writing, dealing with procrastination, knowing when to stop writing and preparing to defend your thesis. Throughout the course, helpful tips to manage the writing process will be shared along with some useful pragmatic examples. Throughout the session, we will be addressing two main formats of dissertation: traditional and thesis by publication.

Prof Nuno Ferreira

Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology 
University of Nicosia 

Prof Ferreira is a Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Nicosia. He holds a Licenciature in Clinical Psychology from ISPA, Portugal, and a PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. After completing his PhD, he worked at the University of Edinburgh as a Lecturer and Senior Teaching Fellow. Dr Ferreira has extensive experience in the supervision of students at postgraduate level. He has supervised to successful completion more than 35 doctoral projects and many of his students have published the results of their theses in high ranking journals or received awards for their projects. Dr Ferreira has been involved in several research projects and has published extensively in the areas of General Mental Health Disorders and Psychological Adjustment to Chronic Illness.
