Accept LGBTI Cyprus invites the Cypriot public to a presentation by the world-renowned transgender advocate and activist Jessica Lynn, on Tuesday 27 November 2018, at 6:30pm at the UNESCO Amphitheatre (University of Nicosia).
Lynn will give the Cypriot public a chance to better understand the key challenges of the transgender journey, allowing those who know little about the subject to ask their questions surrounding the topic.
Her presentation is part of ‘Transvember’ – a series of November events organised by Accept LGBT Cyprus – to highlight transgender rights as lobbying for a Cyprus legal gender recognition law enters its final stages.
Lynn is an American transgender woman who has shared her personal journey over 600 times in 18 different countries, as part of ‘The Butterfly Project’ – an initiative she created to spread awareness and acceptance about transgender and gender non-conforming rights and challenges.
These presentations proved so popular – further empowering Lynn’s courage and honesty in sharing her own story, as well as fearlessly answering audience questions – that she was appointed a Kinsey Institute Global Ambassador (US), and is a Stonewall School Role Model (UK).
Lynn has also presented to the British medical community on trans-related healthcare needs, upon invitation of the UK’s National Health Service.
