The UNIC School of Humanities and Social Sciences cordially invites you to the seminar titled “The role of psychosocial factors in chronic pain”.
Chronic pain is a distressing experience characterised by unpleasant sensory and emotional features not only determined by the intensity of the nociceptive stimulation but also by psychological factors as well. The experience of pain is well known to contribute to a lower functioning both at physical and psychological level.
In this talk, Dr Nuno Ferreira will highlight the mediating role of psychosocial factors (e.g. imagery, pain acceptance, emotional intelligence) in the relationship between pain intensity and functioning outcomes.
