Austrian Blockchain Centre
The Austrian Blockchain Center (ABC), which received partial government funding from Austria, operated from 2019 to 2023 with the primary aim of addressing challenges within the realm of blockchain and associated technologies through an interdisciplinary approach.
ABC's overarching vision was to serve as a comprehensive research hub, providing all necessary R&D services for the effective execution of DLT-based projects, ranging from technical expertise to business management and legal analysis, all under one roof. The network comprised scientific partners, including the University of Nicosia, and five Austrian universities as stakeholders. It engaged in both application-oriented and fundamental research across various areas pertinent to Blockchain technology, including Technology, Security, and Development; Economic Systems and Token Engineering; Law and Legal Policies; and Education. Additionally, the centre organized various events, such as its annual conference, to foster networking and knowledge exchange.
