European Blockchain Observatory & Forum
The EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum (EUBOF) is a European Commission initiative to accelerate blockchain innovation and the development of the blockchain ecosystem within the EU and so help cement Europe’s position as a global leader in this transformative new technology.
Within the consortium leading the Observatory, UNIC occupies the role of academic partner since 2020, distinguished as a pioneer in studying blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies in the context of higher education. UNIC has made a decisive contribution to the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum, providing its know-how and experience in the field and working in close collaboration with other partners and experts from Europe and the world.
Over the past four years, UNIC has spearheaded the publication of various thematic reports, which were featured multiple times in media.
IFF has co-organized the EU Blockchain Week on two occasions, and hosted conferences in Nicosia and Ljubljana, in addition to organizing a range of other online workshops and events. Through its involvement in EUBOF, UNIC has participated in projects and initiatives like the Blockchain for the UN Charter Values and the SDGs Action Plan 100+ (BC100+).
INATBA – International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications has recently awarded the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum with an Award for Partnership Excellence.
