UNIC Sports Office
The Office offers intramural activities, as well as special recreation and educative events. Our mission is to provide the opportunity to all our students to participate in competitive and recreational sports, while also promoting the development of leadership and team skills and the fostering of sportsmanship.
The Sports Office at the University of Nicosia promotes a wide range of athletic activities, fostering a culture of health, fitness, and teamwork. It provides students with numerous opportunities to participate in sports, from competitive team sports to individual fitness programmes. The Office supports student-athletes in balancing their academic and athletic commitments and emphasises the development of essential life skills. Through organised events and activities, the Sports Office enhances the overall student experience, encouraging a vibrant and active campus life.
The Sports Office’s main objective is to promote sports on and off campus and it aims at enhancing the sport culture of the University by joining events and tournaments where all students, staff and faculty of the University can participate.
Competitive Sports
UNIC maintains a competitive sports programme, enabling students to participate in the Cyprus University Sports Federation Championships in a variety of women’s and men’s sports.
Recreational Sports
UNIC also offers a range of fun and recreational sports activities throughout the academic year, which provide a great way to meet people with similar interests. These include paintball, bowling, table tennis, beach soccer, beach volleyball, hiking, and diving.
Sports Clubs
UNIC Sports Clubs are also very popular with our students. They include the aerobics and fitness, basketball, bowling, cricket, cycling, diving, futsal, martial arts, hatha yoga, outdoor activities, and running clubs, among others.
Athletic Scholarships
Students who are actively involved in the University sports teams may be eligible to receive athletic scholarships. The exact amount of scholarships will be determined after the relevant application and selection is made. The sport category, as well as the student’s contribution and performance in the various sports and other University activities, will determine the scholarship amount.
