Invitation to the Shriners Children’s Annual Presentation on Orthopaedics
UNIC Health and Shriners Children’s invite you to the Annual Shriners Children’s Scientific Presentation on Orthopaedics.
Programme
Dr John Frino, MD
Named six times to the US News and World Report’s list of Best Doctors in America, Dr John Frino’s first interest as a medical student was to pursue a career as a paediatrician. However, after finding his surgical rotation “exciting and fulfilling” – his concentration instead turned to combining his two passions as a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon.
The Clemson University graduate and one-time Wake Forest University School of Medicine class president served on the faculty at Wake Forest for almost two decades. “My greatest professional accomplishment is the education I was able to give to the residents that trained with me” Dr Frino said, “and I am most proud of the teaching awards given to me by the residents throughout my career.”
In late 2023, he joined the largest team of paediatric orthopaedic surgeons in the Carolinas at Shriners Children’s Greenville. “I am glad to add value to an organization whose philosophy of treating children aligns with mine,” he said.
Dr Frino is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and served as a journal reviewer of the Journal of Surgical Orthopaedic Advances. His professional memberships have included the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Scoliosis Research Society.
Dr Frino and his wife, who is a physical therapist, have one college-age child. As a family, they enjoy attending live music events, hiking and fly fishing.
