The health benefits of the Mediterranean diet have been proposed since about 1960. The diet appears to reduce the risk of diseases caused by chronic inflammation. This study examines, for the first time in Europe, the effect of Mediterranean diet adherence with the risk of acquiring multiple sclerosis.
