ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Reverend Archimandrite Anastasios Poyiadjis is an Honorary Professor of Tropical Medicine at the University of Nicosia Medical School. He obtained his MD and PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens and specialised in internal medicine. He was subsequently ordained to the priesthood of the Orthodox Church and received his Degree in Theology. From 1993 to the present, he has dedicated most of his time to serving as a Missionary Priest and Doctor in various African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and Madagascar. He has amassed a wealth of clinical experience in Tropical Medicine and is a specialist in adapting medical practice to low-income healthcare settings, especially in rural areas.
