Panos Economou is a Clinical Professor of Surgery and Chair of the Division of Surgery at the University of Nicosia Medical School.
Professor Economou qualified from the University of Manchester Medical School (MBChB with honours) and went on to specialize in general surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Ed) and a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers (MFSTEd). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng) and a Member of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
His research interests include surgical education, hernia surgery, haemorrhoid surgery, medical computing, computer programming and engineering.
