Mobile clinic’s diabetes care visit to Xylofagou: Free tests & public lecture
by Michaela Takos, MBBS P-Year student 28 February 2024 On Sunday, 25 February 2024, the Mobile Clinic had the privilege of travelling to Xylofagou in Larnaca district. Alongside Dr Sotiris Dimosthenous from the UNIC Medical Centre in Ormideia, a dedicated team of twenty medical student volunteers performed blood pressure and blood glucose measurements on a total of thirty-eight patients from the village and surrounding areas. Successful HIV Test Day at UNIC Main Campus
16 February 2024 The Mobile Clinic in collaboration with the Student Affairs Department, the Medical Centre, the AIDS Solidarity Movement, and the Cy Checkpoint, organised a STI testing day on Wednesday, 14 February 2024. Twenty medical student volunteers, along with volunteers from the AIDS Solidarity Movement and Community Health Workers from the Cy Checkpoint, offered free, anonymous rapid tests for HIV and Syphilis. They also provided pre-test and post-test peer counselling to 52 students. Ormideia’s UNIC Medical Centre welcomes the mobile clinic for community care
On Saturday, 21 October 2023, the Mobile Clinic visited Ormideia village, located in the Larnaca District. Fourteen medical student volunteers put their clinical skills into practice and provided Blood Pressure, Glucose and Body Mass Index measurements to the residents of Ormideia and the neighbouring communities.
