Professor Marios Nestoros
Marios Nestoros earned his BSc (1994) and PhD (2000) in Physics from the University of Athens and the University of Cyprus respectively. From 1999-2002 he worked as a Medical Physicist at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center in Nicosia. In October 2002 he joined the Engineering Department at Intercollege, and since 2007 he is a Professor at the Engineering Department of the University of Nicosia. Since 2014 he is also the Associate Dean of the School of Sciences and Engineering.
His research interests include photothermal physics and instrumentation, light-matter interactions, semiconductor physics, non-destructive thermal and electronic analysis of thin films and composite materials as well as design and measurement of antennas for RFID identification.
He has been teaching for various departments courses including General Physics, Biophysics, Semiconductor Physics and Devices as well as Renewable Energy Sources.
He is a member of the American Institute of Physics (AIP), the European Physical Society (EPS) and he has published several articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
