Dr Loizos Papaloizou

Dr Loizos Papaloizou graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece (2003) and later obtained an MSc in Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures from the same university (2004). He then earned a PhD degree from the University of Cyprus (2009) after completing a thesis on a topic in the area of computer-aided engineering. Then, he has worked as a Visiting Lecturer and Special Scientist at the Cyprus University of Technology teaching four different courses. He also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cyprus for a period of three years. He is currently a full-time faculty member of the Department of Engineering of the University of Nicosia, teaching various Civil Engineering courses in the undergraduate programme. Some of his main research interests include earthquake engineering, computer-aided engineering, energy efficiency of buildings and innovative technologies in Civil Engineering.
