Dr Panayiotis Polycarpou

Dr Panayiotis C. Polycarpou is currently an Associate Professor and Programme Coordinator of the Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Nicosia. He graduated in 2004 from the Department of Civil Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Next, he pursued graduate studies at the same department, obtaining, in 2005, a MSc in Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures. In 2009, he completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Cyprus (UCY), obtaining a PhD Degree in Civil Engineering. His research interests are mainly in the field of Earthquake Engineering and Computer-Aided Structural Engineering. His has extensive experience in software development using object-oriented design and programming, especially with the Java programming language, as well as, in numerical analysis and computer algorithms. He has experience with research and teaching in the following institutes: University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, University of Nicosia Research Foundation and the University of Nicosia. He is actively publishing in refereed journal magazines and conference proceedings. He is also a member of the Cyprus Technical Chamber of Engineers (ETEK).
