Important clarifications:
- As of 22 April 2022, SafePass is required only at the indoor areas of catering establishments, entertainment establishments, and music and dance venues.
- The use of a protective mask is required to indoor/closed areas only.
- SafePass is required for spaces over 100 m².
- Persons who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons, and hold a medical certificate issued by the Ministry of Health, the obligation is for a 72-hour Rapid or PCR test.
- The check of persons with a valid vaccination or recovery certificate in the areas of high risk shall be carried out as follows: a) the vaccination or recovery certificate will be checked through the CovScan Cyprus application and b) then the negative test (Rapid or PCR) will be presented in printed form or in a written text message.
It is reminded that:
- Individuals who are positive to the virus are automatically released on the 7th day, without a rapid antigen test, provided that they do not have active symptoms. The release of persons earlier than 7 days is possible with a negative PCR test result on the 5th day since the diagnosis and the cost shall be borne by themselves. Special arrangements apply to closed structures, Senior people’s homes and hospitals.
- Individuals who are close contacts of a confirmed positive case, who according to the Protocol must be isolated, shall self-isolate for a period of 5 days, provided that they do not have active symptoms. A Rapid test on the 3rd and the 5th day after contact is required.
- Teleworking is recommended at 25% in businesses and organisations of the public and wider public sector, as well as in local authorities.
- Visits to patients in public and private hospitals are allowed upon presentation of a 24-hour rapid antigen test (1 person per visit).
