Following a combined career of 30 years in financial services and education, I started my journey in crypto 5 years ago, merely out of curiosity. Following some early free online crypto-related videos, I completed the University of Nicosia’s 12-week free MOOC “Introduction to Digital Currencies” and then embarked towards UNIC’s full Master’s degree in “Blockchain and Digital Currency” to advance my knowledge. Halfway through my MSc, I was offered the opportunity to work for UNIC’s blockchain academic courses, bringing together leading faculty, renowned industry practitioners and 11K+ students from 120+ countries per iteration.

The combination of a unique MSc in blockchain, working experience in academic blockchain education, and extensive prior banking experience, has presently led me to work for CipherTrace a MasterCard company. In my current role as a cryptocurrency risk analyst, I assess the entity risk dimensions of Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), using state-of-the-art crypto-risk mitigating and analytics tools, author crypto-related educational blogs and regulatory newsletters, with a goal to make crypto easier and a safer place.

Investing in UNIC’s blockchain MSc has been one of my best decisions.
