The Association of Consulting Engineers Electrical, Mechanical & Energy awards outstanding senior year projects at the University of Nicosia

On Wednesday 28^th of June 2023, the Association of Consulting Engineers Electrical, Mechanical & Energy of Cyprus honored the outstanding senior year projects of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students at the University of Nicosia. Mr Glafkos Georghiou, President of the Association, presented awards to Travis Mackie from the Mechanical Engineering programme and Marcos Melas from the Electrical Engineering programme.

The awards ceremony highlights the excellence and exceptional performance of the University of Nicosia’s students in the fields of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The Association of Consulting Engineers Electrical, Mechanical & Energy of Cyprus recognises the remarkable effort and unwavering professionalism demonstrated by young mechanical and electrical engineers, providing a €500 award for each field.

Travis Mackie stood out with his senior year project in the field of Mechanical Engineering titled “RETRO: Regolith Excavation & Transportation Robot”. Travis has shown profound understanding and innovative thinking in problem-solving. The University proudly announces that Travis has been offered an excellent job position in the United Kingdom.

Marcos Melas impressed the awards committee with his senior year project in the field of Electrical Engineering titled “Three-Phase AC/AC Voltage Controller”, highlighting his skills in design and development of advanced technologies. His success has already borne fruit as he has already found a promising job position in the respective local industry.
