The School of Law of the University of Nicosia accepted as full institutional member of the European Law Institute
The School of Law of the University of Nicosia is the first academic unit of a Cypriot tertiary education institution to be accepted as full institutional member to the European Law Institute (ELI).
Founded in June 2011 as an entirely independent organisation, the European Law Institute (ELI) is seated in Vienna, Austria, while it functions under the auspices of the European Union. The Institute aims to improve the quality of European law, understood in the broadest sense, including EU Law, Council of Europe Law, European Comparative Law and International Law (either Public or Private). It seeks to initiate, conduct, and facilitate research, to make recommendations, and to provide practical guidance in the field of European legal development. The Institution frequently provides advisory services and participates in consultations with the European Institutions regarding various fields of its members’ expertise in the doctrine and praxis of European Law.
