Two former Ministers of Foreign Affairs cooperate with the academic programmes in International Relations and European Studies of the University of Nicosia
The Department of Politics and Governance and the School of Law of the University of Nicosia announce their cooperation with two distinguished Cypriot diplomats and politicians, Mr Ioannis Cassoulides and Mr Markos Kyprianou, for the forthcoming academic year.
Mr Cassoulides served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus for over a decade (1997-2003, 2013-2018), as Member of the European Parliament (2004-2013), Government Spokesman (1993-1997) and Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus (1991-1993). Mr Kyprianou served as the first Cypriot EU Commissioner (2004-2008), as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus (2008-2011), Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus (2003-2004) and Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus (1991-2003).
Mr Cassoulides and Mr Kyprianou will deliver lectures to students of the undergraduate and graduate programmes in International Relations and European Studies, in the context of their curricula. Their long experience in the fields of foreign policy, diplomacy, and European affairs aims to enrich the academic programmes through the combination of theoretical knowledge and practice and offer the students the opportunity to benefit from their interaction with decision makers who held key positions in the fields of their study.
