University of Nicosia: Among the Top 501-600 universities in the word, in the area of Clinical & Health
The results of the latest edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2023, reaffirm the University of Nicosia’s (UNIC) global standing, ranking it among the Top 501-600 universities in the world in the area of Clinical & Health.
Correspondingly, UNIC ranks 142nd in the European Union, 2nd in Cyprus and 6th among the Cypriot and Greek universities, in the area.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (WUR) is the largest and most multi-level ranking of universities in the world with five decades of experience in the field.
Commenting on the results of the THE Rankings by Subject, the Dean of the Medical School, Professor Adonis Ioannidis, noted: “This ranking is a just reward for the excellent work performed by the UNIC Medical School and by the University of Nicosia in general, with commitment to quality education and a student-centred approach, high-level innovative research in a wide range of subjects and contribution to society with the aim of improving the general health of the population”.
Also commenting on the results, the Dean of the School of Life and Health Sciences, Professor Kyriakos Felekkis noted: “This ranking is not coincidental. It is the result of the collective and hard effort made in recent years by both the University and the School, an effort which focuses on an innovative approach to Health at both the level of education and research”.
The results of this year’s World University Rankings by Subject are the latest in a succession of distinctions bestowed on UNIC by Times Higher Education. Along with its inclusion in the Top 501-600 universities in the world (THE WUR table), UNIC was ranked:
- 179th among the universities in the world that are 50 years old or younger by the 2022 THE Young University Rankings;
- 122nd among the universities of countries or regions classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as “Emerging” by the 2022 THE Emerging Economies Rankings;
- 36th in the world in the core area of Quality Education by the 2022 THE Impact Rankings.
