“If I were to start my life all over again, I would choose exactly the same path without a second thought. After graduating from the University of Nicosia with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s degree in Clinical Dietetics, I felt that something inside me remained unfulfilled. As Plato wisely said, “No one can escape destiny”. Inspired by this belief, I decided to follow my heart and start a second Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education and I successfully graduated in 2025.

The University of Nicosia will always be my top choice. The expertise and guidance of the faculty members, as well as the unique experiences I gained, all together essentially prepared me for the next step in my professional career. Less than a year after my graduation, I was appointed as a primary school teacher at a private school. What brought me even greater joy was that the pedagogical training and professional readiness I acquired through my studies at the University of Nicosia impressed the school’s administration.”

The school practicum, the course in emergent literacy, music, theater, special education, as well as the integration of technology and educational robotics essentially prepared me for the classroom. “My studies in the PhD Programme of the Department of Education of the University of Nicosia constituted a lived experience of encountering the phenomenon of (poetic) language, an experience that essentially transformed the process of meaning-making.

For me, deeper phenomenological engagement marked the beginning of a transition from the conventional conception of (poetic) language as a semiotic system towards a deeper understanding of it as a phenomenon that reveals itself within the ambiguity and polysemy of meaning.

The continuous scientific guidance provided by the members of the supervisory committee, combined with the fertile academic environment of the University, which promoted initiative and originality, not only contributed decisively to forging my academic and professional identity, but above all, will continue to inspire my subsequent phenomenological explorations.”
